It's the evening of November 28, 2017
For the past 6 months or so, the internet has been flooded with concept photos of what some thought would be the next generation Jeep Wrangler. There were many different images. Some appeared to be a possibility, while others were way off course. Either way, it caught the attention of many curious Jeep lovers. The end of the JK era was in the near future.
In the Spring of 2017, heavily camouflaged Wranglers were popping up all around the streets of Michigan. It was clear they were Wranglers, but it was unclear as to what was different.
Longer wheelbase? More upright windshield? These ideas, and many others, had the internet and Jeepers all around the world buzzing.
More and more spy shots popped up throughout the Spring and Summer. As a Jeep lover, it was exciting. I couldn't wait to feast my eyes on what was under the camo.
Around Halloween, FCA surprisingly released three images of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler. These images quickly made the rounds all over the internet.
At first sight, I didn't like what I saw. I'm not sure why. I think maybe because I own a JK and this was just different. As weeks went on and more photos rolled out, the reasons why I didn't like the JL seem to have escaped me. It has grown on me. I like the little bend in the front grille (very CJ like) and the way it contours around the headlights. No turn signals underneath the headlights gives it a nice clean look. The body line running across the doors is a nice touch giving the body some depth.
Overall, a nice simple refresh for the Wrangler.
Tomorrow, November 29, 2017, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will officially debut at the LA Auto Show.
Much more information should be available, such as pricing, model types and other official details.
I cant wait to see everything the JL has to offer. Anyone wanna buy a JK?
