Top 5 Must Do's When You Go Camping July 09 2021, 0 Comments

Over time I have learned less is better when you go camping, as long as you are
smart about what you pack. Everyone has
different needs and wants, so it takes practice to figure out what works and what doesn’t for you.

Must haves for me are a pillow, good sleeping bag, tent, camp chair, cast iron pan, and grate to cook on over the fire. Of course, food and water, but that is a given. What I have...

Looking Out For Your Friends July 04 2020, 4 Comments

One day about six years ago, I called the police in a small town in California. I was worried about an online friend I met on Google Plus. He name is Mike. He is a fellow Jeeper and paralyzed from a motorcycle accident. He was in a very bad place six years ago. There was a group of us who would chat and try to lift his spirits.

One night I noticed a very disturbing post he wrote. I was very...

To be doing good deeds is man’s most glorious task. ~Sophocles

As I focus on Living My Life to the Fullest - Living My Best Life, I find there are many things I need to do to accomplish this. One of those is doing a Good Deed Daily. Not only does this make me feel better, but the person receiving the deed gets something out of it too. This makes the world a better place a little bit at a time which...

Throwback Thursday - The New JL August 01 2019, 0 Comments

During my tour of the Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant luck was on my side. As we headed over to see the JK's and JKU's in production there sat a Red JL surrounded by 3 engineers with lap tops. The new Jeep JL will be assembled on the same line as the Cherokees, the Liberty and the Dodge Nitro previously were built.

They have not started full production of the JL yet, as it is still in the testing phase....

A New Wheeling Experience July 10 2019, 0 Comments

Finally after five years of wheeling, I made it to Gore, Virginia to take my Jeep off-roading. I've heard about the place many times, but never found my way there for several reasons.

I always heard they wheeled hard and breakage was not an issue. I also heard the trails were mainly for big rock crawlers. Now I can put those fears to rest. The Cove Campground outside of Gore, Virginia is a great...

Uwharrie Off Road Fun! May 28 2019, 0 Comments

Expect the Unexpected!

This is something every off-roader should be prepared for when they hit the trails. It's one thing I learned when I wheeled in Uwharrie during the Carolina Trails Off Road Spring Invasion.

In May of 2018, I wheeled the three "D" trails at Uwharrie; Dickey Bell, Dutch John and Daniel. Those three trails are the most difficult trails there. This year I decided to wheel the...

A Day in a JL Wrangler May 14 2019, 0 Comments

My surprise treat while my Jeep was in the dealer garage for warranty repairs was a day with a JL Rubicon Unlimited. The folks at DarCars Chrysler Dodge of Rockville let me take the JL for the day while my Jeep was up on the lift to fix leaky axle seals.

I was super surprised how much I liked the JL. The ride was quite nice after being in my lifted JKU. Compared to the jittery steering in the...

Jeep Gladiator Joy Ride May 07 2019, 0 Comments

Earlier this week I needed to take my Jeep in for a leaking axle seal, which awesomely was covered under the drive train warranty.

While I was there, I asked if I could take a new JL to drive while my Jeep was being fixed. The Jeep Dealer said yes! However, I was only allowed take it from 9am to 9pm. So I decided to come back the next morning to pick up a brand new JL Rubicon to drive to work while...

Primative Camping Lessons April 23 2019, 0 Comments

I love camping and being in the great outdoors. I love sitting by the campfire with friends and great conversations. I grew up in Minnesota and North Dakota  camping and fishing my whole childhood. I have some really great memories on the lakes and in the wilderness.
Now I combine my off-road adventures with my childhood love. Each time I go, I learn something new about being prepared. This last...

Learning to Be More Flexible April 16 2019, 0 Comments

Part of my Jeep Journey has been discovering the importance of being flexible. I am a pretty OCD person. I make lists. I make plans. I would get frustrated if my plans were not followed to a tee. I have realized over the years this only leads to my disappointment.

I would drive my family crazy on vacations making sure we followed my itinerary. Since my soul searching journey of six years, I have...
