Pilgrimage to Heal My Heart, Mind & Soul - Day 2
- Self-esteem; self-respect.
- The value one assigns to oneself or one's abilities in self assessment.
- The quality of being worthy of esteem or respect
Why do I still have anxiety?
Why am I a people pleaser neglecting my needs?
Those fears are there because of a deep seeded feeling I am unlovable. Over my lifetime I have made choices that don't fit in society's box, so society's judgments can wear you down. As well as I have come across many bullies who are condescending and controlling. One of my first memories as a child was two neighborhood boys taunting me daily. So I have to remind myself they do this only to feel good about themselves. They are trying to make others feel inferior to them.
I would beat myself up for my mistakes and dwell on them. I was terrified of criticism, and was striving for perfection. I need to stop that way of thinking and to rewire my brain as that diminishes my self worth.
