It's a Jeep Thing!
We -- Jeep owners -- say it all the time. Some people say we are obsessed, but I would disagree. We are just very passionate about our Jeeps.
Passion vs. Obsession - Is there a difference? Yes. But it's a fine line.
And where is that line? Well that's debatable.
I like to think passion inspires creation and happiness. Passion is a strong liking for an activity or something else. When you are passionate about an activity the enjoyment you feel about it is evident in how you carry yourself.
Obsession impacts you and those around you in a negative and harmful way. Obsession is when you are constantly preoccupied with an activity or something else.
Writing about this topic I did a little research on OCD and obsession. I would like to officially make it clear -- I am not OCD. OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder -- an anxiety disorder. The person has intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry. There are repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing the associated anxiety.
OCD is a description some of my friends and family give me. Okay -- not some all of them. Well, I would like to clear the air. I am not OCD! Yes, I have a really, really neat and clean house. I like to make lists and everything has a place. I'm a very organized person. But I don't do these things out of anxiety. I really enjoy organizing and things being were they belong. It make me happy. Some might say obsessive.
Well, I don't think I'm either - well, maybe a little obsessive. I like to call it passionate. I'm passionate about organization. Just like I'm passionate about my Jeep and my blog. I'm just really passionate about things I like and enjoy!
Note: Sometimes I read my posts to my husband before I post them. So I just read this blog post to him and he laughed. I asked why. He said, "You are obsessed about not being obsessed." So maybe... I'm passionately obsessed about certain things.
Are you passionate about something? Do your friends think your obsessed? Share your thoughts!
